Some times you need to change your altitude to get a good picture (yes this is a play on words since it was next to the airport), go a little higher or as in this instance go a little lower. When I drove by this little patch of yellow flowers in the ditch I thought there could be something beautiful to capture but I just wasn't sure how. I came back and pulled off the side of the road, walked over and thought, how was I going to get rid of all these distractions, the interstate sign, the traffic, the black tarp, and other signs? After walking around a bit (getting my shoes all wet and muddy since it had just rained the day before) I decided to try to get down low and see if I could get a good angle of the flowers, once I did that then I had to find a section of sky that would make for a nice contrast.
Who would have thought that this photo was taken 10' off a busy highway next to an international airport?
